You Are Not Forgotten

(Photo taken from The Star - Food line: Myanmar children crouching as they line up to receive food from local donors on the outskirts of Yangon yesterday - AP)

The black and white photo in the daily news gripped my heart. The sight of children waiting in line in crouching positions on muddy ground. Each child held an empty plate. A few were barefooted. Some had slippers. They looked forlorn and lost. There must be a tremendous sense of fear and devastation as these young ones brace themselves to overcome the tragedy that had befallen them. Many would have lost their loved ones and a life they can now only dream of having. It was also reported that there were fears that children orphaned or abandoned as a result of the cyclone that slammed into the country, may be at risk of being targeted by human trafficking groups. There are also fears of outbreak of diseases.

These are indeed disturbing images and news. Many around the world would have been utterly shocked and saddened at the turn of events these past two weeks. Much aid and prayers have been offered to the victims of the tragedy. I hope and pray that more would be done for the country and its people.

I would like to dedicate the following to these children and all the victims of the tragedy. My prayers are they will have the hope and strength to rebuild their lives.

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in His hand

Chorus:
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears when I call

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He’ll never leave me
No matter where I go

It saddens me to see the innocent kids suffer from no fault of their own.

that's really so sad ... and the saddest thing is the thought that they could be targeted by human trafficking groups! :(

Good one. I just hope that the earthquake in China will not divert attention from the tragedy in Myanmar.

The fact that China seems more willing to deal with the problem doesn't help matters.
