Call Them Crazy

Avid anglers. I call them 'crazy' anglers. These men were trying to make a good catch on a Sunday morning along the Bosphorus strait in Istanbul. Not just any Sunday morning. But a raining Sunday with cold winds. Most people would be in bed catching up on Sunday sleep away from the cold. But not these men. They braved the chill and stood in the wind waiting for the fish to bite. Such passion and zeal. I remembered feeling the freeze and I wasn't particularly thrilled with the wet and cold weather as I took this photograph on my last day in Istanbul. The desk manager at the hotel where I stayed commented that Istanbul was shedding tears for us as a group of us were due to leave the city that afternoon...Don't cry for me Istanbul...oops doesn't sound right does it?..hahha.

What about you? What are some of the craziest things that come rain or shine will not stop you from doing? I can think of golfing for some people..and aha...blogging's another one..(unless of course when there's power failure).

I can think of getting married. The show must go on, rain or shine.

Did you enjoy Turkey? Some friends of mine are going in Oct. What time of the year were you there?

Happysurfer, that's a very good one..the marriage vow binds you come rain or shine..hhhehe.

Enjoyed it very much..would like to make a trip there again. I was there in October..a good time though very cold. Tell your frens not to miss the hot air balloon in Cappadocia. Btw, I had a post on the hot air balloon.

Thanks for tips. My friends would appreciate them. They'll be joining a guided tour. Will check out the hot-air balloon post.

Wow, you really travel around! How exciting ;)
Thanks for commenting on my page... I discovered, though (to no great surprise), that the portabellas really aren't as good without the cheese... Guess they're just a vehicle for cheese. But, a good vehicle!

Craziest thing that I've ever done? It has got to be dragging my wife down to rowing in southern Wales even though it was drizzling (rather heavily)... and singing to her while she was cursing and swearing. Ok, I am a maniac. lol
