Heavenly Custard

Heavenly custard. Tastes so good but not everyone's cup of tea. For those who don't like durians, they say the fruit smells...like smelly cheese and sweaty socks :)

What I couldn't understand was how a food host on tv could stomach worms but not a bite of this fruit? Puzzling!

Anyway, I like my heavenly custard fix once in awhile. I had this sudden craving for durians last Friday night so I bought a pack of the red prawn (udang merah) variety.

What's special with the red prawn durians? This variety is distinguished by its orange reddish coloured flesh and they are normally smaller in size. The red prawn variety's also not overly sweet which suits my taste well.

What about you? What's your favourite variety or are you one who shuns the King Of Fruits?

I absolutely love durians! Just ate some today! Since I have a sweet tooth, I always like the sweet, yellowish and creamy type with thick flesh that completely covers the seed. My favourite at the moment is D24 and Musang King, which is terribly expensive but really really good!

I prefer Malaysian durians compared to Thailand's. Somehow, Malaysian durians have better aroma and taste.

I'm not really into durian since I have this smell sickness. When I don't like a certain smell of the food...it goes together with my tongue. I've tasted it though and i prefer the durian candies than the real one. I do love fruits...i don't despise such healthy options. =P

Durian is almost an obsession to me. We rushed down to Geylang to grab some during our last visit back. Smelt of durian the entire afternoon.... as if I give a hoot. :p

But unlike you, I prefer D24 to Red Prawns. Didn't quite like the latter after I got some from NTUC back then.

So far, my fav is still the D24 type. I like the sweetness and the clarity in its taste. Durian, the fruit, I like but not in other forms, like candy, kueh, mooncake, etc.

Oh, I love durian very much, So does my doggie dachshund Leo. :)

The best durian we can buy here is Monthong from Thailand.

I never have chance to taste the durian from Malaysian, what a pity!

Yes!durian, the king of fruits, my favourite.

I also favour 'Cat Mountain King' & ' Black Pearl' species of durian.
Yummy!

I have yet to eat durian fruit. I have come so close but the smell just drives me away. My next trip to Thailand I am going to overcome my fear and try it.

It's the first time I hear of this thing, really. Or maybe I ignored it until now! I will try this, eating smelly socks should definitely be an unforgettable experience :D
